Tyler Hansbrough scores 17 in NBA debut

Indiana defeated a split squad of Philadelphia and New Jersey 75-67 in overtime in their Orlando Summer League opener.

Indiana Pacer first round pick Tyler Hansbrough led the the team with 17 points as he made six of 13 shots from the field and five of eight from the line. He added five rebounds. Brandon Rush, who is entering his second season, had 15 points, but he was only four of 18 from the field. Fellow second year player Roy Hibbert added twelve points ad nine rebounds.

Marreese Speights led all players with 28 points and eleven caroms. He made eleven of 26 shots from the field. Second year player Chris Douglas-Roberts had 20 points as he made six of twelve from the field and eight of eleven from the line. Rookies Jrue Holiday and Terrence Williams struggled with their shooting in their debut. Holiday made just three of eleven from the field as he finished with nine points. Terrence Williams was only one of eight from the field as he finished with two points and nine rebounds.
